100th Day of School

Monday, February 10, 2014

Dear PS 39 Community,

It’s hard to believe that we have passed the half-way mark of this school year. Monday, February 24th will mark our 100th day of school! It’s a very exciting day not only because it’s fun to count and collect 100 items but it’s a great time to reflect on all that they have learned, experienced and achieved!

Discuss with your children their highlights of the school year so far. Have them name the great accomplishment, favorite book and best memory. Encourage them to share their goals for the remainder of the school year.

Our goal for this second half of the year is to read a million minutes. Dr. Seuss put it best, “The more you read, the more you know.” Help your child reach this goal and love reading for life by letting them see you enjoy reading. Share interesting articles you read as a family and remember they are never too old to enjoy being read to!

If you would like help finding the perfect book please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Sincerely,

Kasandra Lopez-Garcia
